When Lauren Ruddick began classes at Ivy Tech Franklin last August, she thought she had an idea of how her time as a student would be before transferring to a four-year institution.
And then everything changed!
Not only did Lauren quickly adjust to taking virtual classes, but like all of us, had to overhaul her life.
“It is hard to stay home all the time because my generation is use to a go-go-go style of living,” she said. “And now, we all have to slow down.”
However, despite the drastic changes, Lauren has found ways to give back and stay positive.
Until recently, she had been able to donate time to her local food pantry in Johnson County. And when she was no longer able to go into work, Lauren found that it gave her more time to focus on her education.
“I have had plenty of time to do school work, which is great,” she explained.
While it looks different than she expected, Lauren will continue working hard towards her General Studies degree to graduate and transfer next spring.
