
Indiana’s “Next Level Jobs” initiative, which provides free statewide training in high-paying, in-demand industries, expanded this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier this fall, Governor Holcomb and the Department of Workforce Development announced “Taking Hoosiers to the Next Level,” allowing a large rush of currently unemployed Hoosiers the opportunity to earn a short term credential. This was made possible through CARES Act dollars.
There were more than 1,300 applicants to this project submitted by Central Indiana residents.
While it was no easy feat, Ivy Tech staff and faculty worked around the clock to ensure there were enough classes available and students received the assistance they needed to enroll.
