Events held every Monday from April 26 – August 30 from 3 – 5:30 p.m.
Every Monday from April 26 through August 30, Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis will host a Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana Drive-Thru Food Distribution open to the public on its downtown Indianapolis campus. The event will be in the North Illinois Center parking lot at 101 W. 28th Street. Participants will enter via the 28th Street entrance.
For this event, members of the community can drive through to pick up a 30-lb. box of fresh food containing meat, dairy and vegetables. There will be 1,000 boxes available each Monday that will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
“With our downtown campus being in one of the city’s largest food deserts, we are glad to once again partner with Gleaners to help get food to our local community,” said Gigi Brown, director of IvyCARES at Ivy Tech Indianapolis. IvyCARES provides Ivy Tech students with a variety of support, including assistance to combat food insecurity.
Ivy Tech served as a Gleaners’ food distribution site during the summer of 2020, serving more than 12,000 meals.
