Ivy Tech Indianapolis announces next Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs 

Dr. David Oehler will begin this new role effective January 18, 2022

Ivy Tech Indianapolis has named Dr. David Oehler as its next Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, effective January 18, 2022. Oehler comes to Ivy Tech Indianapolis from Metropolitan Community College (MCC) in Kansas City, Mo., where he currently serves as vice president of instruction and student services for its Longview campus. 

Before joining the Longview location, Oehler served as Dean of Instruction at MCC’s Maple Wood campus, serving as the campus chief academic officer. He has also had a distinguished career at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo., where he rose from an instructor to academic department chair in the Department of Communication, Theatre and Languages, and later in Fine and Performing Arts. 

He earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education from Iowa State University, a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Utah and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech from Iowa State University.

New students can complete enrollment steps at December Express Enrollment Week

Ivy Tech Indianapolis invites all new students that need to register for January classes to our Express Enrollment Week, taking place December 6 – 10. Assistance will be provided virtually and in-person.

How to attend in-person

Check in at the front desk in the first floor rotunda in the Glick Technology Center.

Parking is free. Entrance and parking available between 26th and 27th Street. Check-in at the front desk. Click link above for a campus map.

Check-in via out Virtual Front Desk at IvyTech.edu/IndyHelp. From there, you can enter a room to speak with us for next steps.

Employees celebrate accomplishments during annual Employee Recognition event
