Nearly 50 students attended a free LGBTQ-Friendly College Fair hosted by Ivy Tech Indianapolis on Monday, October 7 from 5:30 – 8 p.m. on its downtown Indianapolis campus.
The event was held in the Illinois Fall Creek Center, located at 2535 N. Capitol Avenue, in conjunction with Campus Pride, a national nonprofit organization that serves the LGBTQ community on college campuses and provides resources to students.
“Ivy Tech Community College strives to establish a sustainable culture where everyone feels they belong,” said Jay Watts, executive director of diversity, equity and belonging for Ivy Tech Central Indiana. “The LGBTQ-Friendly College Fair is a pivotal space where students will see the environments they can enter into that invest in more than their intellectual and career aspirations; it is a holistic support of the whole person.”
Ivy Tech is one of five colleges across the United States that offered this fair. Learn more about Ivy Tech’s department of Diversity, Equity and Belonging at IvyTech.edu/diversity.
