Guest article by EmployIndy and WorkOne Indy

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted thousands of Indianapolis residents in a variety of ways – most pressing is the increase in unemployment. As a city with a thriving and growing hospitality and tourism industry, we were hit hard when necessary safety precautions and stay-at-home orders were set in place. To combat this impact on our economy, EmployIndy and WorkOne Indy have launched a webpage with COVID-19 reemployment resources.

As individuals look for work and determine next steps, WorkOne Indy is a valuable resource. Not only are there career navigators who can work one-on-one over the phone to assist in career growth, but there are assessments available to:

  • Learn how your current skills transfer to a different job or industry
  • Determine ‘gaps’ in your skillset and learn about certifications and employability skills to bridge those gaps to make you an even more valuable candidate
  • Discover growing and ‘hot jobs’ in the evolving labor market
  • Sharpen your resume while you break-down job descriptions to highlight your qualifications

On top of assessments and career development resources, there are also free, virtual workshops available to improve your resume, prepare for interviews, and learn how to up your job-search game.

In addition to these services (and more), EmployIndy has a Business Partnerships team committed to being an intermediary between job seekers and employers. Because of this, you can also find an ever-growing list of available job opportunities.

To get started today, visit the COVID-19 webpage and/or call our team members at WorkOne Indy: 317.798.0335.
