Ivy Tech Community College is once again accepting nominations for the prestigious Student Advocate Award.
The Student Advocate Award recognizes the outstanding contributions by a Student Affairs professional or other campus staff member who has worked at the Ivy Tech campus for no less than one (1) year. The winner will have a demonstrated commitment to student success and student well-being by creating an environment that enriches the student experience. Excellent candidates will demonstrate outstanding performance in one’s job responsibilities going frequently above and beyond the normal scope of expectations. Candidates should have proven leadership abilities and innovation within the individual’s role and position responsibilities.
Any student from an Ivy Tech campus can nominate an eligible staff member for this award. The nomination should include a couple of paragraphs (no more than 1 page) about how the staff person is an advocate for students. Nominations will be submitted via form on the Statewide IvyLife page.
From the campus nominations, campus SGAs will select the campus nominee and then forward one nomination per campus to the statewide President’s Council. A sub-committee of SGA presidents will narrow the campus nominations to 3 finalists.
The SGA Presidents’ Council sub-committee will research the 3 finalists and present more information to Presidents’ Council. Additional information could include a half page bio from the nominee or a recommendation from supervisor
The SGA Presidents’ Council will select the winner from the 3 finalists. The President’s Council will then present the award at the Student Success Summit.
